Scott Rocklage opens up during an interview with IdeaMensch

Dr. Scott Rocklage is a reputable healthcare professional in the United States. He recently had a great interview session in one of the popular media houses in the region, IdeaMensch. He clarified that his business, 5AM ventures, is a life science-based idea. Scott pointed out that he works with entrepreneurs in shaping science ideas into medicines. He further clarified that his attention to time-management, calendar, and prioritization of duties is the secret behind his success.

The medic stated that if he was to start again, he would focus more on proper team selection. Scott told IdeaMensch that most of his failures if any, can be attributed to hiring wrong people. He encouraged all entrepreneurs not to be afraid of calculated risks and to stay close to their strengths.

Dr. Rocklage recommended that the business community should read the classic good to great. The book, he proceeds, will help them understand business and performance. The Dr. reminded the business community that goals and performance appraisals cannot change one’s performance characteristics. Therefore, companies should strive to hire the right people in order to sail through with their goals.

Rocklage is currently a managing partner in one of the most popular US organizations, 5AM Ventures. He pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of California and later received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has since served the healthcare sector for over thirty years.

He has been celebrated for his great contribution to the sector. Scott is a co-founder of at least 30 U.S patents. He has over thirty years of experience in healthcare management accompanied by strategic leadership responsibilities. He has worked with many organizations serving in different capacities. He joined 5AM venture as a partner in 2003 and became a managing partner a year later.

Scott has served as the CEO of both Cubist Pharmaceuticals and Nycomed Salutar. Before then, he had been the chairman of Relypsa and Novira. His hard work has seen him enter several drug-candidates into clinical trials.
