Iranian-American visionary technology entrepreneur, angel investor and venture capitalist, Shervin Pishevar has invested in more than 60 companies in markets that include the media, mobile, search and more. Early in his career, he set up and managed technology-based companies that include Webs.com, Social Gaming Network, Ionside Interactive, Application Corporation, Seges Capital and HyperOffice.
Shervin Pishevar was a managing director at San Francisco-based venture capital firm Sherpa Capital. He launched the firm in 2013 with Scott Stanford. Their investments include Uber, Munchery, Shyp and Cadre. Pishevar is also the cofounder and chairman of Hyperloop Technologies. He earlier operated as a managing director at Menlo Ventures where in 2011 he initiated the Menlo Talent Fund. In addition, he worked directly with companies that included Uber, Warby Parker, Tumblr and their investments.
In 2012, The U. S. Department of Homeland Security singled out Shervin Pishevar as an Outstanding American by Choice, which recognizes naturalized citizens for their involvement and input through civic involvement and particular achievements. As one of the 10 affiliates of the United Nation Foundation’s Global Entrepreneur Council, Pishevar advocates making disaster relief solutions better, establishing a clean energy outlook as well as working with the UN to solve global problems. Pishevar took part in initiating the Technology and Innovation Plan which resulted from his work with the Technology, Media and Telecommunications policy working group.
He was also a major speaker at former US President Obama’s Summit on entrepreneurship and has functioned as an entrepreneurial ambassador in a number of state department assignments to Russia and the Middle East.
