The city of Houston, Texas has grown close to the heart of Nabors Industries CEO Tony Petrello and his wife, Cynthia who has become an important ally in the many philanthropic works the couple take on over the course of their lives. Since becoming Chief Executive Officer of Nabors Industries in 2012, the drilling company has become one of the most important groups in the U.S. with a reputation for being professional and a company which is seen as one of the most creative and innovative in the 21st-century; Petrello has been seen as important in the development of the brand as one of those pioneering an innovative approach to giving back to the local community.
It was in 2017 the work of the employees of Nabors Industries in terms of philanthropy hit its zenith in the aftermath of the destructive Hurricane Harvey which even affected the employees of the company who were affected by flood waters and loss of power. The decision to work with the employees of Nabors Industries was taken quickly by members of the group who were given the opportunity to take paid leave in order to assist with the cleanup and reconstruction of the area of Texas and across the Golf Coast which was affected by the disaster.
Not only was Tony Petrello concerned with making sure the employees of Nabors Industries who were able to assist with the cleanup from Hurricane Harvey did so but he also wanted to make sure other aspects of the philanthropic work of the company were still being completed. As a native of Newark, the CEO has spent much of his time seeking to explore the community links he believes should be in place for all successful companies and brands across the nation; looking close to home for his philanthropic work has always served Tony Petrello well as his own children have been affected by neurological disorders prompting his decision to provide almost $7 million in funding for research to the Texas Children’s Hospital.
In terms of his business life, Tony Petrello also hopes to make sure his own company offers employees an opportunity to see how confident Petrello is about the future of Nabors. One of the main areas Petrello has impressed the employees of the company is in linking an estimated 80 percent of his personal income to the profits of the company.
