Robert Ivy: contributions and awards

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is a body composed of architects. It is the largest body in the united states that deal with matters of architecture. Robert Ivy serves as the executive vice president and CEO of AIA. He has held this position since 2011.

 

Ivy is the winner of this year’s Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is given by the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Awards and goes to individuals who have roots in Mississippi. Ivy becomes the first architect to win this award. The Polk award recognizes individuals who have spent their lifetime supporting arts. Only those who have made exceptional contributions are awarded. Before Robert Ivy started working for the AIA, he was the editor-in-chief of the “Architectural Record.” Under his leadership, the organization made some remarkable achievements. It became the biggest organization that deals with publication of architectural materials. The Architectural Record also won the National Magazine Award for General Excellence.
